Trendy Tuesdays with Lucky Linden: Upcoming Jewelry Trends

I know by this time in the year I usually need a wardrobe refresher. I don't feel like going shopping in the middle of the winter season but I can always get some excitement in my wardrobe by adding accessories. For Spring, here are some of the jewelry trends to look out for.



Tassel earrings and fringe necklaces: This trend was seen a lot on the Spring runway from Chanel, Louis and Dior. Here's an example of a nice one by Bebe.







Medallions: These ones by Kara Ross and Lois Hill on the Max and Chloe site are really nice.







Plastics and Perspex: Colored fun jewelry that's 60's inspired will be big for Spring. You can find them from brands like Karen Walker, or Marni. The acrylic rings are really nice you can find them on Etsy.com. They are handmade.

Kanye Drops 180 On Watch With His Face

Kanye just treated himself to a brand new $180,000 Tiret watch this week. The one-of-a-kind design features the star’s likeness on the dial in over eight carats of yellow, black, brown and white diamonds.

Trendy Tuesdays: Air Jordan 7 Retro ‘Orion Blue’

April showers bring May flowers but Jordan Brand is bringing the heat in March to kick your spring off with their own blast of vibrant color. The Air Jordan VII Retro looks as fresh as any other healthy nineteen year old, this white leather ensemble accented by the familiar Infrared and this pair’s signature shade, Orion Blue. Those two colors on a mostly white shoe is like a blast from Nike’s bright early ’90s past, but any well versed Jordanhead would be able to tell you on the spot that nothing like this combo has ever hit retail. Any Air Jordan retro release is sure to draw heated reactions but there’s no arguing the case for new colorways on the classics when the design so perfectly bridges two generations. Happy New Year everyone! I thought I'd let you know about one thing that is here to stay for the New Year! Unlike everything else that is changing..According to everyone's facebook pages. LOL
I predicted the death of Animal Print for Spring..Not because I wanted it but just a wild guess!.. It seems its not going anywhere for Spring. And neither are leggings! YAYY..One great trend thats here to stay for Spring is printed leggings.
Here is how to wear them:

Pair a wild print of leggings with a Jersey dress, Tunic top or long sweater...Try to make sure it covers your butt unless you are extremely slender and you do not have on opaque (see -thru) tights on.

Add a neutral colored bootie or platform sandal, accessories and you're done!

Trendy Tuesday With Lucky Linden: Review of Hellobeautiful Salon

So, last week I got a dramatic change in my look. I got my hair cut into a layered bob just in time for the holidays. I wanted to go somewhere good and a friend recommended a hairstylist named Faith from the Hello Beautiful salon in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I decided to post a little review of my experience there. Faith specializes in cutting, coloring and styling curly hair like mines. I wanted a look that would be able to wear curly as well as straight and I knew I wanted bangs. So when I first came into the salon it had a grungy trashy 80's feel to it. There was pink leopard print everywhere. It was kind of cute.. Very laid back..A dog jumped on my coat and I said that I was allergic to dogs and the stylist moved my things. Now, on to the styling...She first had a consultation with me and asked me about my hair, she touched it and she recommended that I cut it in a layered bob. She washed my hair and blew it out and then she started snipping away at my hair. When she was done my long hair had been transformed into a short bob with bangs! It took a couple days to get used to but I realllly think Faith is a talented stylist and I got a good haircut. If you're interested in the salon the website is hellobeautifulsalonnyc.com. H&M’s most recent designer collaboration is with Lanvin.
Alber Elbaz has created a collection of both women’s and menswear, expect lots of ruffles, as well as shoes, jewelry and accessories.

The line will hit stores November 23, just in time for Black Friday shopping. This dress below is priced at $240, keep in mind the normal price of these dresses you could add a zero to that number.

I’m really feeling the ski look and cardigan sweaters for the winter and I was looking in Glamour magazine, the cover with Taylor Swift and I noticed that there was a couple of pages dedicated to sweaters. Trendy Tuesdays: AIR JORDAN 13 BLACK/RED TO RETURN IN 2010?

With loads of big ticket retros coming back including three original colorways of the Air Jordan 13 are we set to see yet another? Recently VMVinc, notorious for getting early shipments of upcoming releases, put up a run of Black/Red 13s labeled as 2010 retro with a ship date at the end of the month. Could this be a holiday surprise from JB? Don’t get too excited as the model number listed is the same 2004 retro and different than that of the upcoming Flints and White/Red retro.

This was a very big one on the runway, very fun trend with a retro feel.

Pop Art Graphics
I love nail art patterns! You can get this look by finding a good minx nails salon or buying them from Sephora

Metallics and gold foil
You can try layering an iridescent top coat over gold foil.

Ever wonder why women on tv and in magazines look so perfect?? Well the magazines have photoshop to help them. But there's also a big part done by makeup. If your skin isn't perfect then you might want to read this...If it is then God Bless You!!


Not only Tvs come in HD, HD makeup has been around for a while as a secret of backstage artists. Now it's available for everyone, this means that you can look like almost like you're on the cover of a glossy magazine IN PERSON! HD makeup is makeup that has light reflectors in it. It will fill in any imperfections or fine lines on your face. The best brands that I would recommend are Make up forever or Smashbox. I use Smashbox photo finish and my bare minerals powder goes on really smoothly. I also use Make up Forever HD Microperfecting primer in neutral. It adds luminosity to the skin. You can try the other shades to that are used to combat redness or sallowness in the skin. Another thing, I dont use this type of makeup on an everyday basis so it lasts me very long. I mostly use them when I will be taking photos. I hope you guys will try it as well.
