Trendy Tuesdays with Lucky Linden: Upcoming Jewelry Trends
I know by this time in the year I usually need a wardrobe refresher. I don't feel like going shopping in the middle of the winter season but I can always get some excitement in my wardrobe by adding accessories. For Spring, here are some of the jewelry trends to look out for.
Tassel earrings and fringe necklaces: This trend was seen a lot on the Spring runway from Chanel, Louis and Dior. Here's an example of a nice one by Bebe.
Medallions: These ones by Kara Ross and Lois Hill on the Max and Chloe site are really nice.
Plastics and Perspex: Colored fun jewelry that's 60's inspired will be big for Spring. You can find them from brands like Karen Walker, or Marni. The acrylic rings are really nice you can find them on Etsy.com. They are handmade.

1 Year Since Haiti's Devasting Earthquake
The first anniversary of the earthquake that killed some 220,000 Haitians and left an estimated 1.5 million homeless is likely to increase calls for donors to deliver on their promises of recovery aid and to spur questions about a cholera epidemic that has killed some 2700 Haitians. A presidential election stalemate adds political volatility to the Caribbean country's woes. Memorials services will be held in many cities of the world, in Haiti and at the United Nations. The Game' breaks BET ratings, gets 2nd chance
After nearly two years off the air and in limbo "The Game" has returned to TV, giving BET a big ratings boost and fans another chance to share the highs and lows of a football wife and her athlete husband.
The show premiered its fourth season Tuesday night on BET after a three season run on the CW that was canceled in 2009. "The Game" set a ratings record for BET, which said 7.7 million viewers tuned in, making it the No. 1 original telecast on the network, and No. 2 of all-time, behind the 2009 BET Awards, which had 10.2 million viewers and took place three days after the death of Michael Jackson.
"We're coming out hitting hard," said executive producer Salim Akil. "We really hope it opens BET up to more voices, to more people being able to come in and pitch shows and have a variety of different scripted shows on the network."
"BET has been absolutely top-notch in the way that they've been handling this, from allowing us to be creatively free ... to the advertising to now having the cast at TCA," continued Akil, referring to the recent Television Critics Association gathering in Pasadena, Calif. "All of the things that we didn't get over there at CW, we're getting at BET."

Hov Throwing Shots At Wayne?
On the track, released on Kanye’s Facebook page early Tuesday morning, Jay-Z complains that his competitors merely fantasize about what he does on a daily basis — including, but not limited to, schmoozing with Warren Buffet and Steve Forbes. He also cites this writer’s $450 valuation of his personal net worth, rounding up slightly to “half a billie,” before taking a shot at a fellow Hip-Hop Cash King or two: “Really, you got baby money.”
The line is a double entendre meant both as a general reference to the small amount of money that other rappers have in comparison to Jay-Z, and as a specific a reference to the wealth of rapper Dwayne “Lil Wayne” Carter, also known as “Weezy Baby,” and fellow New Orleans rapper and record executive Brian “Birdman” Williams, also known as “Baby.”
Trendy Tuesdays: Air Jordan 7 Retro ‘Orion Blue’
April showers bring May flowers but Jordan Brand is bringing the heat in March to kick your spring off with their own blast of vibrant color. The Air Jordan VII Retro looks as fresh as any other healthy nineteen year old, this white leather ensemble accented by the familiar Infrared and this pair’s signature shade, Orion Blue. Those two colors on a mostly white shoe is like a blast from Nike’s bright early ’90s past, but any well versed Jordanhead would be able to tell you on the spot that nothing like this combo has ever hit retail. Any Air Jordan retro release is sure to draw heated reactions but there’s no arguing the case for new colorways on the classics when the design so perfectly bridges two generations. Look for the Orion Blue AJ7 on March 26th

Lupe Fiasco Preps ‘Controversial’ Single
As Lupe Fiasco gets closer and closer to his Lasers album release, he’s chosen a second single that should get people talking.
The Chicago rapper stopped by Providence’s Hot 106, where he made the announcement. “The next single is a song called ‘Words I Never Said,’” he revealed of the follow-up to “The Show Goes On.” “It’s gonna be really big. It’s a big, controversial record.”
Lupe has worked with The Neptunes, Kane Beatz, Soundtrakk, and The Buchanans on the oft-delayed album. After a public dispute with his label Atlantic Records last year, the disc was finally given a release date of March 8.
Trendy Tuesday With Lucky Linden: Trends For Natural Hair
Being that 67% of women have kinky/curly or wavy hair it makes a lot of sense that naturally curly should always be in style. This however is not the case because of stigmas and certain impressions of "big" hair. One of the people who is trying to change that is Lorraine Massey, the owner of Soho's Devachan Salon specifically targeting curly and multicultural hair. Her book came out last week "The Curly Girl Handbook" and I picked it up yesterday. I haven't read through the entire book but so far I like what I've read. It gives tips on how to style your hair in its natural state, and how to wash and even trim your own hair. I know that a lot of us (including myself) have had addictions to wash and sets but this will give you an alternative to wear and care for your own natural hair. It saves money, is green because it saves energy and will help you to accept your natural self. The book is a little extreme with limitations on products and caring for the hair. For example, the author says you may NEVER straighten your hair. I disagree, although heat is damaging you can certainly do it once in a while, just condition it extra afterward. Also she forbids certain ingredients in products such as silicones aka:cones. I feel like whatever works on your hair use it, there isn't any need for me to be radical about it. Overall the book has some great advice and even recipes for homemade hair products. I think Curly Girl Handbook is a good buy if your trying to ride the natural wave. Natural is always in style. ~Lucky Linden~

Mike Epps Sued for 1 Million Dollars
According to TMZ.com, Mike Epps just got sued for $1 million for punching a photographer back in November; however, the victim claims the violence didn't end there--accusing Epps' friends of firing shots at him as he tried to escape.
Cameraman Douglas Thornton filed the seven-figure lawsuit today in Michigan, claiming he was covering a public event hosted for Epps at the Key Club in Detroit. According to Thornton, Epps went ballistic and started grabbing at Thornton's camera, at which point a fist-flying brawl erupted.
Thornton claims Epps unleashed a brutal beating and after Thornton was physically removed from the club, members of Epps entourage fired several shots at Thornton who ran for his life.
Thornton's attorney tells TMZ, "Mr. Epps is lucky he is not facing a murder charge."
According to the police, Thornton claims he was hired to film the party that was being thrown for Mike Epps.

T.i. Moved 2 Higher Security Prison
TMZ has discovered that T.I. has been relocated to a “special Housing Unit” as a result of a prison infraction during wife, Tiny’s, last scheduled visit. Apparently, the couple is allowed to kiss and embrace during the beginning and end of their time together but inmates’ hands must remain in plain view at all times.
Reports say both parties were reprimanded after guards caught Tiny reaching for Tip’s tool or something below his belt.
